RAR Extractor Online
Open a RAR file and extract every file inside it, right here in your browser. Nothing is uploaded — extraction runs locally on your device.
Drop a RAR file here
Your archive is opened locally in your browser. It is never uploaded.
Supports .rar archives, including RAR5. One archive at a time.
Select fileExtract RAR files online without installing WinRAR
This RAR extractor online opens .rar archives directly in your browser and lists everything inside them, so you can extract RAR files without WinRAR, 7-Zip or any other install. The archive is decoded on your own device using WebAssembly — it is never uploaded to a server, never stored, and never seen by anyone but you. Drop an archive in, browse the contents, and download the files you actually need, one at a time or all at once. It works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Chromebook, Android and iOS, because the only thing you need is a browser.
Choose your RAR file
Drag a .rar archive onto the drop zone or click to select one. The file stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
Extract it in your browser
The RAR extractor decodes the archive locally and lists every file inside it, with names, folders and sizes.
Download what you need
Download any single file, save everything to a folder, or grab all the extracted files as one ZIP.
No upload, ever
Your RAR file is opened in the browser using WebAssembly. It is never sent to a server, so even large or confidential archives stay entirely on your machine.
No WinRAR install
Open RAR files online without installing WinRAR, 7-Zip or any unarchiver — useful on locked-down work laptops, shared computers and Chromebooks.
See inside before you extract
Browse the full file list, including nested folders, with sizes — so you can check what an archive holds before extracting anything.
Extract one file or all of them
Pull out just the one document you need with a per-file download, or save the entire archive to a folder in a single click.
Safe path handling
Archive entries with directory-traversal or absolute paths are skipped rather than written, so a malicious RAR cannot drop files outside your chosen folder.
Free, unlimited, no signup
No account, no email, no watermark and no daily file limit. Because the work happens on your device, there is nothing for us to meter.
Open a RAR someone emailed you
A colleague sends a .rar attachment and your computer has no unarchiver. Open it online, pull out the one file you need, and move on.
Extract RAR on a work or school computer
Locked-down machines often block installing WinRAR. A browser-based RAR extractor needs no admin rights and no software install.
Check a download before trusting it
List an archive's contents to see what is really inside it — file names, folder structure and sizes — before extracting anything to disk.
Documents and text
PDFs, Word and Excel files, CSVs, notes and readme files come out exactly as they went in, byte for byte.
Photos and images
JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP and RAW photo sets extract with their original names and quality — no recompression.
Nested folder structures
Archives with deep folder trees keep their structure. Save to a folder and the original directory layout is recreated for you.
Code, data and everything else
Source archives, config files, fonts, audio, video and binaries all extract untouched. Any file type inside a RAR can be recovered.
RAR archives in
Single-volume .rar archives, including modern RAR5 and older RAR4 files, created by WinRAR or any compatible tool. Password-protected and multi-part (.part1.rar) archives are not supported, and the extractor will tell you clearly when it sees one.
Your files out
Extracted files download individually with their original names, or all together — saved straight into a folder you pick, or bundled as a single ZIP if your browser does not support folder saving.
vs. installing WinRAR
WinRAR is a paid desktop install with an endless trial nag, and it needs admin rights. This extractor opens the same archives in a browser tab, free, with nothing to install.
vs. upload-based RAR sites
Most "online RAR extractor" sites upload your archive to their server, extract it there and hold your files for hours. Here the archive never leaves your device, so there is nothing to leak, delete or trust.
vs. converting RAR to ZIP first
If you only need one or two files, converting the whole archive is wasted work. This tool extracts individual files directly — though a RAR to ZIP converter is right here too, if you want the archive repackaged.
Files never leave your device
There is no upload endpoint and no server-side processing. The RAR is read from local memory and extracted by WebAssembly running inside your own browser tab.
Nothing is stored or logged
We never receive your archive, so we cannot store it, scan it or retain it. Closing the tab erases everything the extractor was holding in memory.
Path traversal is blocked
Entries whose paths point outside the output folder — using "../" or absolute paths — are skipped and reported, not written to disk.
Works offline once loaded
After the page loads, extraction needs no network connection. You can disconnect entirely and still open your RAR file.
01How do I open a RAR file online for free?+
Drop your .rar file onto the drop zone at the top of this page. The archive is opened in your browser and every file inside it is listed immediately. You can then download individual files or save them all at once. It is free, needs no account, and there is no file limit.
02Is my RAR file uploaded to a server?+
No. This extractor runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your archive is read from local memory and never transmitted anywhere. You can confirm this by opening your browser's network tab, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads — extraction still works.
03Do I need WinRAR or 7-Zip installed?+
No. That is the point of this tool. It opens RAR archives without WinRAR, 7-Zip or any other unarchiver, which makes it useful on work laptops, school computers and Chromebooks where you cannot install software.
04Can I extract just one file from a RAR archive?+
Yes. Every file in the archive is listed with its own download button, so you can extract exactly the one you want and ignore the rest — handy when a large archive holds one document you actually need.
05Can it extract password-protected RAR files?+
No. Encrypted archives cannot be extracted here — the tool detects them and tells you the archive is password-protected. You will need a desktop tool and the correct password for those.
06Does it support multi-part RAR archives?+
Not currently. Split archives (files like archive.part1.rar and archive.part2.rar) need every volume present at once, and this extractor works on one single-volume .rar file at a time. It will tell you if it detects a multi-part archive.
07Does it work with RAR5?+
Yes. Both the modern RAR5 format and older RAR4 archives are supported, so archives from any recent version of WinRAR will open normally.
08What is the maximum RAR file size?+
There is no fixed limit, because your device does the work. The practical ceiling is your available memory — the archive and its extracted contents are held in RAM. Ordinary archives of a few hundred megabytes extract without trouble on a typical computer.
09Why were some entries skipped?+
For safety. Archive entries can contain paths like "../../" or absolute paths designed to write files outside the folder you chose. Any such entry is skipped and the count is reported, so a malicious archive cannot overwrite files elsewhere on your system.
10Does it work on a phone or tablet?+
Yes. The extractor runs in any modern browser, including on Android and iOS, so you can open a RAR file on your phone without installing an app. On mobile, files download individually rather than to a chosen folder.
