§02 — Rotation Angles Explained

Rotate 90° Clockwise

Turns the frame a quarter turn to the right using transpose=clock. This is the most common fix — it corrects portrait videos that were captured sideways and play in the wrong orientation.

Sideways clips usually come from a phone that saved the wrong orientation flag. Upload the video, pick the 90° rotation that turns it upright in the live preview, and download the corrected MP4. It will play the right way up on every device.
Rotating turns the whole frame by an angle (90°, 180°, or 270°) while keeping the image the right way round. Flipping mirrors the frame across an axis, producing a reversed mirror image. To fix orientation you almost always want rotation; flipping is for mirror effects or correcting front-camera footage.
You can rotate MP4, MKV, WebM, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MPEG, OGV, and M4V files. The output is always an MP4 (H.264) file, which plays on every device and platform.

Yes. Chrome on Android handles moderate-size clips well, and iOS Safari works too, though WebAssembly is slower on mobile. For long or high-resolution videos, a desktop browser will rotate faster.
